Getting away from it all seems to be getting even harder.
Wireless access to the Internet is becoming a standard feature at Canadian campgrounds, as more and more travellers insist on being connected - even when vacationing in the great outdoors. Campground owners say Wi-Fi is now as important as electricity or mini golf in attracting campers.
Jef Sutherland of Kampgrounds of America says campers have come to expect Wi-Fi when they're on the road.
Sutherland says more than two-thirds of his company's 33 Canadian campgrounds provide free Wi-Fi.
At least 80 Canadian campgrounds, including about 30 in British Columbia alone, offer wireless Internet for their guests.
